Alan Edward "Al" Schmitz

Al was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin. He raised his family in Corpus Christi, Texas. Al was a devoted loving husband and father.
He was quiet, soulful and generous in nature. His friendly disposition earned him many fast friends and he was a friend to all.
Many of his friendship were lifelong and he considered many of his friends as extended family.
He lived for simple pleasures listening to Rock n' Roll, watching sunsets and Green Bay Packers games.
His other favorite past times were well spent with family and friends hanging out at the beach, BBQing, golfing or fishing.
Al worked in sales for the Texas Oil & Gas Industry for over 30 years.
Al is survived by his wife of 35 years, Laurie Schmitz and her son Jeremy Baker (Lisa), daughter Tracey Marie James (Adrian), son Eddie Alan Schmitz, mother Adella Mae Schmitz, sisters; Diane Carlson (Randy) and Gail Coel (Mark) and brother; Paul Schmitz
sister n' laws; Ruth Beranek Templin and Leymone Menger, brother n' laws; Scott, John and James Beranek.
Nephews and Nieces; Phil & Rowdy Carlson, Jacob & Zachary Coel, Laura Schmitz, Luanna & Ellie Lindermann, Jackie Henrichs,
Dean, James, Michael & Holly Beranek, Desiree & Emilee Fletcher & Andrew Broyles.
He is preceded in death by his father Edward William Schmitz & Brothers in law; Dean, Bill and Gregory Beranek.
A "Celebration of Al's Life" will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Sylvan Hill Pavilion in Wausau, Wisconsin.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial may be made to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness or Holder Research Institute in honor of Al Schmitz
