Alvin Gilcrease Jr.

Alvin “Skippy” Richie Gilcrease, 42, of Bastrop, TX, passed away on April 1, 2022.

Alvin Gilcrease was born at Vanderberg Air Force Base on November 17, 1979, to Alvin and Darla Gilcrease. The family would later move to Bastrop County, Texas where Alvin attended Bastrop High School and went on to become a lineman-foreman. Alvin was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Rockne.  Alvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling with his wife. He was the kind of man that would not only give you the shirt off his back but his shoes too. He was a hard worker, and his life goal was to be the best man and husband he could be. Alvin loved his wife Tabitha and said many times, how lucky he was to be married to his best friend and soulmate.

“People come and go in your life but the right ones will always stay” Alvin was the one that “Always” Stayed.

Alvin was preceded in death by grandparents, Milburn and Isabel Gilcrease; Kelly & Shirley Dougherty; uncle, Tim Gilcrease

Alvin is survived by wife, Tabitha Osborn Gilcrease; daughter, Hannah and Madyson Osborn, Adeline Jordan (Lucas); son, Hunter Drake Gilcrease; parents, Alvin and Darla Gilcrease; brother, Heath Gilcrease (Kim); sister, Stacy Gilcrease (Sandra); brother-in-law, Josh and Jessica Osborn and niece, Meredith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 5:00pm-7:00pm followed by Rosary at 7:00pm in the chapel of Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop. Mass will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 10:30am at Sacred heart Church of  Rockne followed by interment in the Sacred Heart cemetery.
