Anne was born on November 3rd, 1953 in Salem, New Jersey to Edward and Helen Bevis. She grew up in southern New Jersey on a farm alongside her 4 brothers. For over 40 years, she worked on Vasta Farms alongside her husband Joe and raised their daughter Casey. In 2018, she and Joe moved to Texas to be near their daughter.
Anne was known for her sense of humor and kindness to others. Her love for her family was unmatched and the bond she shared with her grandchildren was beyond words. She found joy in exploring the Texas countryside with her husband, antiquing and doing true crime puzzles with her daughter, snuggling and crafting with her grandchildren, searching fields for arrowheads, and serving at her church. She had a true green thumb and was always caring for untold numbers of flowers and plants. She had a special way of making everyone laugh and feel loved, and her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Helen Bevis, and her brothers Robert Bevis and Leroy Bevis. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Joseph Vasta, her daughter Casey Slusher and son in law Stevan Slusher, her granddaughter Elliott Slusher, her grandson Nathan Slusher, her brothers Edward Bevis and John Bevis, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th at 11am Central at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Elgin, TX. The service will also be streamed live on Facebook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House in her memory.
We are forever grateful for the love and support shown by friends and family during this difficult time.
