Beverly Jean Hensley (Hunter) passed from this life April 29, 2017 at the age of 73. She was born in Slidell, LA on January 26, 1944.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Carpenter Jr., loving grandmother, Ada Wactor and loving mother, Clarice Hunter. Beverly is survived by her two sons, William Thomas Carpenter, III and his wife Karen, Sean Christopher Hensley and his wife Molly; four grandchildren, Ethan Luukas Carpenter, Jacob Tyler Hensley, Jaden Hunter Hensley and Drake Archer Hensley; and special friends, Peg Marquart, Becky Cox, Judith Sanson, Lori Litzinger and Bruce Bowles.
Beverly was an ER nurse working the night shift in Houston for over 30 years. Starting at Alief General Hospital, she went on to work at Rosewood Hospital and eventually retiring from West Houston Medical Center. She loved nursing and the countless doctors and nurses with whom she got to work with. She had a great sense of humor that was a requirement for working in the ER and her stories of ER patients were both funny and educational at times. Beverly loved dogs, especially poodle(s), her latest named Ginger, and had a rescue dog named Harry. She also dearly loved Alaska. Alaska was the only place she would vacation and had a special love for going to Turnagain Arm and watching the Bore Tide from Beluga Point.
A private family and friends memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Beverly Jean Hensley on May 6, 2017 in Houston, TX.
