Beverly Ann Rhoades, 90, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family and close friends on February 19, 2025. Beverly was born in Austin, Texas on February 26, 1934. The youngest daughter of John and Lilly Kreuz. She graduated from Austin High School in the Spring of 1952. On November 20, 1952, she married the “love of her life”, the late Jack Rhoades, they remained married for 72 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Lilly Dickens; four children, John Dale Rhoades (Phyllis), Sherri Ann Rhoades Seals (David), Ricky Everett Rhoades (Sheri), and David Cleveland “Pete” Rhoades; twelve grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Seeley (Ryan), Amy Michelle Gutschick (Kurt), Travis Dale Rhoades (Tara), Stephen David Seals (Charity), William Andrew “Drew” Seals (Danni), Jessica Ann Bernick (Ian), Jack Everett Rhoades (Erin), Jenae Deanne Byrd (Braden), Jayci Caitlyn Ehler (Preston) and Julie Anne Rhoades (fiancé Cameron), David Cleveland Rhoades, Jr, and Zachary Woodrow Rhoades. She was also blessed with twenty great Grandchildren, Trystan Seeley, Elaina Seeley, Annaleigh Seeley, Isaac Gutschick, Ezra Gutschick, Asher Gutschick, Kailey Rhoades, Colton Rhoades, Brooklyn Rhoades, Vela Bernick, Samantha Seals, Darren Seals, Brooklyn Seals, Colbie Rhoades, Ricky Rhoades II, Annabeth Byrd, Baylor Byrd, Hattie Ehler, Riley Ehler and Mina Beverly Rhoades. There are also many nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish her memory.
Beverly was a third-generation florist, following in her grandmother’s and uncle’s footsteps. She owned and operated Bastrop Florist for 22 years. Her motto was “Say it with flowers”. She retired in 2002 and became a full-time grandmother. She was in regular attendance at all her grandchildren’s performances and athletic events.
She was also an amazing and gifted seamstress, having made numerous dresses and costumes for her children and grandchildren.
Beverly was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and dearly loved her church family.
Her children would like to thank all the healthcare providers, church members, and friends who took care of and visited their parents during their final years.
Visitation will be held Friday February 28, 2025, at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home, with friends and family gathering from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Funeral service will be the following day, Saturday March 1, 2025, at Calvary Episcopal Chruch at 1:00 PM.
