Bill Tabor lost his battle to cancer on February 3rd 2017at the age of 83.
Bill was passionate about his land and his family. He spent most of his time working on his property, creating his vision of the land for his children and grandchildren. His vision was very important to him but always came in a close second to spending time with his family.
Bill was the kindest man with a most generous heart. He would always lend a helping hand and never took more than he gave. He would do anything for anyone.
In his younger years Bill spent a lot of his time making some great adventurous memories. He was the inventor of the water walker and was voted one the sexiest men in Austin. Bill also owned his own businesses and stables and along the way he made many friends, some famous and some not so much.
Many may know him well for his Tabor Town store in Cedar Creek.
He lost his loving wife, Glenda Jane Tabor, 14 years ago to heart failure and has not since re-married. He had 4 children of his own and 2 children that he adopted. He was loved by so many including his children, 2 grandsons, who he was lucky to have spent most of their lives with, and 1 grandson due on the 28th of February who will be told of Bill's legacy by many.
Bill's vision of "Tabor Town" before the illness took over , was to renovate and rejuvenate the land and building. He wanted to leave his family a finished vision. His battle was over only 5 weeks after diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer. To honor Bill and his vision, his family is asking for any donations, big or small, to help make Bill's dream come true.
Bill's children and grandchildren have great goals to make their father proud and appreciate any help that brings them closer to his vision. The gift of time will be equally important once the financial goal has been met. Any gift, small or large, financial or physical help will be greatly appreciated. As the Tabor Town Vision moves forward, the hope is that Bill's children will be able to realize his vision and passion for land, life, love and the joy that come with seeing the community come together.
In lieu of flowers the family is setting up a Tabor Town Vision fund. Gifts to this fund will go towards the restoration and preservation of Bill's land. you may leave gifts at the service, at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home or online at: https://www.gofundme.com/bill-tabor-tabor-town-vision
