Connie Jones of Bastrop, Texas passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 83. She is resting in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Connie was born August 20, 1940, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. 

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Mildred Hill, and sisters Beverly Lamoureux and Nancy Peters. She is survived by her loving husband Jimmie, children Jimmie Jones and wife Rhonda, John Jones and wife Amy, grandchildren Alisa Proffitt and husband Matt, Amy Isenhower and husband Aaron, Ethan Jones and Lacey Jones, great grandchildren Arlee and Aaron Isenhower and Hudson and Carter Proffitt, brother John Hill and wife Carol, and many nieces and nephews. 

At age 17, Connie met the love of her life: Jimmie Jones of Bastrop, who was stationed at Fort Devens in the US Army. They were married on September 6, 1958, in Fitchburg and soon moved to Bastrop to raise a family. Connie joined First Baptist Church where she served the Lord for 65 years including teaching Sunday School, serving on the Kitchen Committee and singing in the choir. She loved the Lord and read her Bible every day, often writing down special life moments in the margins. She worked at Fox’s Department Store and Long’s Grocery Store in Bastrop, Callahan’s General Store in Austin, and for Bastrop County. She had many friends and neighbors in Bastrop whom she loved dearly. 

The family would like to thank JOL Hospice Care for their compassion and care during Connie’s brief illness. 

A memorial service to celebrate Connie's life will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday July 30,2024 at the First Baptist Church.

The church is located at 1201 Water Street in Bastrop, Texas.
