Crus Coronado Botello departed this world, Monday, September 23, 2024, to reside with our Lord, whose father’s house has many rooms.
Born September 14, 1937, Crus was a lifelong resident of Bastrop County and a devoted member of Ascension Catholic Church. Early on in her life, Crus and her five siblings were orphaned. Crus, the oldest daughter, had gone as far as the fifth grade before having to take up household responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, and caring for her youngest brother, who as an infant, was still in diapers. Crus, at the tender age of 16, later met and married Blas Alvarado. Crus and Blas had four children, one of whom preceded them in death, just days after her birth. The baby never made it home from the hospital. Blas died in 1972. Crus later met and married Fred Botello in 1974.
Crus was a strong-willed woman, excellent cook, and seamstress.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Botello; daughter, Mary Storms; son, Blas Alvarado and daughter-in-law, Anna Alvarado; daughter, Lori Gonzales; and sister, Mary Castillo. Crus is survived by five grandchildren – Kristen Storms, Blas Alvarado III, Jonathan Gonzales, Marcos Alvarado, Emma Alvarado, and one great-grandchild – Stormy Johnson.
Crus is predeceased by her father and mother, Paz and Leandra Coronado; late husband, Blas Alvarado; daughter, Elidia Alvarado; sons-in-law – John Storms and Robert Gonzales; brothers – Simon Coronado, Catarino Coronado, and Pete Coronado; and sister, Teri Driver
