Jerene Annette Wuensche Loeschman

The Lord gave Jerene the gift of life on Sunday, July 14, 1940 in Slaton,TX, first born child to Herman and Clara Wuensche who farmed in nearby Wilson, TX.

Jerene was baptized July 21,1940, into membership in God’s family at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wilson, in a home baptism, which was the custom. She was educated at St. Paul Lutheran School, a one-room school for grades 1-7, where the Bible and Lutheran doctrine were taught for the first hour of every school day, a gift for which Jerene was thankful throughout her life. She was confirmed into communicant membership at St. Paul Lutheran in Wilson on March 29, 1953.

Jerene graduated from Wilson High School in 1958 and enrolled at Concordia Junior College in Austin the following fall, where she met her future husband Albert Loeschman of San Antonio.

She graduated in 1960 and entered Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois, graduating in 1962. After teaching at Redeemer Lutheran School in Austin, Jerene and Albert were married at St. Paul Lutheran in Wilson on August 17, 1963, before Albert’s vicarage in South Dakota began.

Their marriage was blessed with the birth of Angela, Nathan and Joel, born in three different states as Albert finished Seminary in St. Louis, and served the Lord in churches in Jennings, LA, Houston, TX, San Antonio, TX, Vernon, TX, Sequin, TX, and North Zulch, TX during 42 years of ministry. During this time, Jerene taught in Lutheran schools for 13 years, and then in Texas public schools for 20 years, retiring in 2002.

The Lord took her home to heaven on October 1, 2020.

She is survived by her husband Albert, daughter Angela (with her husband Scott Heitmeier and grandsons Brooks, Hudson with wife Crystal and great grandson Coen, and grandson Tate Heitmeier,) her son Nathan (with his wife Elizabeth, and grandchildren Claire, Graham, Henry, Henry and Lilybeth,) and son Joel Loeschman, her sisters Nancy Koehler, Wanda Pierce, Debra Gassaway and brother Allen Wuensche.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding have all they that do His commandments. His praise endureth forever.” Psalm 111:10
