Jim Trigg, Jr., 69, of Port Lavaca passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December
14, 2018. He was born on September 13, 1949 in Elgin, Texas to Jim Trigg Sr and Mary
Jane Whitten Trigg. He married his high school sweetheart Pat Clark in 1968. They
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii surrounded by their children and
grandchildren. Jim was a Product Applications Senior Specialist for GE/Suez. He and
Pat loved to travel and saw so much of the world. He always looked forward to taking
all the family to deer camp each year, fishing with the grandkids, watching UT football,
and pampering his girls.
He was a 1976 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science
in Chemical Engineering. He has received many accolades during his career including GE's
highest division award The Eagle Award, Calhoun County Man of the Year, and the Rotary
Paul Harris Award. Before his job required him to travel almost non-stop he was very
active in Calhoun County serving as President of United Way, Rotary and Chamber of
Commerce including helping develop their Leadership program. He served on many boards
and committees, but his most rewarding was the Junior Livestock Association and 4-H Leader
helping kids with show animals at the county fair.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, father in law James Clark, nephew Wyatt
Trigg, and niece Stacy Klaus.
He is survived by his loving wife Pat Clark Trigg of Port Lavaca, son Brett Aaron Trigg and wife
Shaye Johnson Trigg of Gordon, Texas, daughter Lynna Shawn Trigg Slover and husband Sammy
Slover of Stephenville, Texas. Grandkids Ross Trigg, Rylan Trigg, Gage Slover, Garrett Slover, and
his princess Gracie Slover. He is also survived by his brother Wes Trigg and wife Patsy of Bastrop,
sister Patti Moore and husband Bill of Bastrop, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jackie Clark and
Bill Roy of Livingston, LA, Kalda Clark and Gregory Klaus of Red Rock, TX, Lisa Clark and
Y.J. Jimenez of Brackettville, TX and Jeannine Clark and Damian Muehr of Red Rock, TX, and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 6-8pm at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home.
Services will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home at 10am with
graveside to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Ross Trigg, Rylan Trigg, Jeff Klaus, Jason
Klaus, Brandon Muehr, Vincent Muehr, Rhett Trigg and Kleber (Cheebe) Trigg. Gage Slover and
Garrett Slover will be Honorary Pallbearers.
