Jimmy Dwight Reid, age 71, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away peacefully of natural causes at St. David’s Hospital on August 13, 2021 with his children at this side.
He was born
on March 17th 1950, in

. He was a lifelong rancher in
C
edar
Creek, Texas. He worked at LCRA, and
later
the American Legion before retiring. Jim graduated from
Bastrop
H
igh
S
chool in 1968 and attended college at Blinn
J
unior
C
ollege and U
niversity of Texas at
Aust
in majoring
in
accounting
.
He also coached Bastrop Little League, the Bastrop County 4H
S
tate
H
a
y judging team, horse
judging and was the 4H
D
istrict 10
O
utstanding
V
olunteer of the year. His greatest love was watching his
children accomplish their goals
and his grandkids play sports.
He led all of his kids through various 4H
and
FFA livestock projects.
Jim was preceded in death by his daughter C hrista Le anne Reid, his parents, brothers; Johnny B. Re i d, Donald Gene Re i d and sisters; Be nnie Lou Alexander, and Essie Ann Richards.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 1:00pm – 1:30pm in the chapel of Marrs - Jones - Newby Funeral Home followed by a graveside service in Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery at 2:00pm.
