John Depew

SFC. John H. DePew III, U.S. Army, Vietnam, Ret. “Rusty”, 72, of Holland, passed away Sunday, June 9th at Silver Pines Nursing Home in Bastrop, Texas.

Rusty was born on October 10th, 1946 to John H. DePew Jr. and Mary Ann DePew in Austin, Texas. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served our country for 24 years as a Military Police Officer and Investigator for the U.S. Army. In his free time, he loved to play fast pitch softball and umpire little league.

He leaves behind two sons, Eric DePew of Holland, Texas and Thomas DePew of Evanston, Wyoming; Two daughters, Aimee DePew-Green of Moody, Texas and Patricia DePew of Burnet, Texas; Six grandchildren and four nephews.

Committal will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 11 am at the Holland Cemetery with full military honors. Immediately following the service, fellowship will be held at 18961 Harber Road, at Eric DePew’s home in Holland, Texas.
