John Laird

Johnny Buford Laird, age 66, of Bastrop entered Heaven's
gates on December 10, 2016. He was born September 9,
1950 in Baytown, Texas to James B. and Ola
Elsie (Quine) Laird.

Johnny was a heavy equipment operator for highway
construction.

Having been in a nursing home for the past 2 years,
Johnny told the family he was ready to go to Heaven
where there would be no more pain. Thanks to God,
Johnny just went to sleep here and woke up in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters.

He is survived by: a son, Christopher C. "Chris" Laird
and wife Ave; grandchildren, Morgan and Addison Laird;
a brother, William A. "Bill " Laird and wife Carolyn; sisters,
Ola B. Becham; Surba Ramos; Wanda Ferrand and husband
Bo, Betty Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews along
with other relatives and friends.

A Gathering of Relatives and Friends will be from 11:00am
to 1:00pm on Saturday, December 17 at Marrs-Jones-Newby
Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday in the
Marrs-Jones-Newby Chapel.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bastrop, TX.
