When Jon Ryan walked into the room, those in his company felt his enthusiastic spontaneity. Jon was a naturally talented and artistic person. It was as if he wanted to share everyone's experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. He went everywhere he could, from San Francisco to Key West. He had been to Yellowstone, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana ,Georgia, and of course- all over Texas. He was not selfish or materialistic. He was fiercely independent and asked for very little in life. It was this exceptional insight and his free spirit that became Jon's trademark qualities and it was one of the many reasons why all who knew him loved him.
