June Dartez Rougeau

June Ellen Rougeau, 85, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 6^th, 2023, in the comfort of her home.  She is survived by her husband Donald James Rougeau and sons Dane Edward Rougeau and Jay Loren Rougeau.

June was a loving mother, devoted spouse, and lifelong Catholic, and member of the Sacred Heart Church.  Through her life she frequently taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) and was a lector proclaiming the readings from Sacred Scripture.

She cared deeply for her family, church, and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help, often giving all she had and then some.  June frequently volunteered to organize fairs, carnivals, bake sales and other events for schools, church, and charity.

June was devoted to her husband Don. They were together for 65 years and were married on February 3, 1962.

She will be missed terribly by her husband, sons, family and all who knew her.
