Kory James Lewis, age 31, born in Houston, Texas on November 1, 1992, passed away in Bastrop, Texas, on October 5, 2024. Kory was single and left no children. Kory is survived by his parents; Tonya (Rodney) Castor of Bastrop, TX, Ken(Monica) Lewis of Corpus Christi, TX, his siblings, Korbyn (Michael) Hunking, Carissa (Rocky) Davila, and Troy Castor, nephew and nieces, Kaison, Maelynn, and Ila, grandparents, Jo Anne Tuck, Lyndon (Mary) Smith, Edna Carriger, Ted (Aliene) Lewis, Mauricio (Brenda) Quintero. Kory left a myriad of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Kory spent his youngest years in Corpus Christi, Texas, then moved to Bastrop, Texas, where he was a talented baseball player. Kory graduated from Atascocita High School in 2011. Kory then attended trade school where he became a welder. Kory loved all sports, fishing, and outdoor activities. One thing you could count on when around him is he would put a smile on your face. He had the goofiest laugh and could never keep from laughing even in the most serious moments. He was compassionate and loving toward animals with a special spot in his heart for dogs.
Kory’s funeral will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home located at 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop, TX 78602. The public visitation is Sunday at 1pm, with funeral services to follow.
