Maria Matilde Valles, 69, of Cedar Creek, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2020. She was born on March 14, 1951 in Buena Union, Durango Mexico. She married her childhood sweetheart, Rafael I. Valles-Gonzales. Together they had 5 children.
Matilde or “Ma” as everyone called her, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She helped raise 3 grandchildren and 3 nieces & nephew. She enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren. Family was the most important thing to her. Ma loved everyone and took everyone in as her one of her children. She was so loved by many.
Ma was the life of the party! She loved her Tequila! She was known for her great tasting cup of coffee. No one can make it like her. You would always hear her ask, “You ready for some coffee?”
Maria Matilde Valles is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rafael I. Valles-Gonzales. Her daughters Sonia Valles & Isela Valles. Her two sons, Jose Juan Valles Sr. and Rafael Valles, Jr. Ma is also survived by her nieces, Erlinda Valadez & Graciela Carreno and nephew, Ernesto Cordova which she raised as her own. Ma was a mother figure for all her grandchildren, but particularly to Krystal Montez, Adrian Montez, and Ivan Tapia. Ma had a total of 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ma is preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings, and her daughter Maria Elena Valles.
She leaves her family behind with a shattered heart but with wonderful memories and stories that will be shared for generations to come.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Austin at 1:00 p.m.
