Marsha Jean Dooley
Marsha Jean passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on November 3, 2017 at the age of 63. She was born to Billie Jean Goodwin Dooley and Tip Wayne Dooley on February 17, 1954 in Amarillo Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Jean Hickman; father, Tip Wayne Dooley and her step-dad, William McClain Hickman.
Marsha is survived by three sisters, Piper Smith and her husband Willie, Wendy Boyd and her boyfriend Johnny, Laysha Vargas and her husband Ernie; one brother, Spencer Wayne Dooley; and Marsha's very special friend . She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and their families that all loved their Aunt Marsha dearly, as well as uncles, cousins, friends and their families and her two kitties, Bones and Oscar.
Marsha pursued her dreams of becoming a nurse in 1982 after graduating from North County College in Kingwood, Texas, she started her first nursing position at Conroe Regional Medical Center as a floor nurse.
Marsha also worked at Northwest Medical Center in Houston, Texas as a medical surgical nurse, and at Cypress Fairbanks in Houston, Texas as a charge nurse. She loved working in areas of oncology, emergency and intensive care. Later in her career when she moved back home to Smithville she worked in convalescent centers in Bastrop, Lee and Fayette County. When Marsha retired from the nursing field she worked at several local restaurants with her last position at Brookshire's all in Smithville.
Marsha loved ancient history, walking along creek beds and rivers looking for fossils and Indian artifacts, music, scary movies, and love stories one of her favorite was Doctor Zhivago. Marsha was full of life and love for everyone that came into contact with her. The most infectious smile and laugh you could ever hear, one that will remain with us until we meet again.
Our family will gather on November 18th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Marrs - Jones Funeral Home in Smithville Texas in remembrance of Marsha. Please come by and share your stories of her.
