Martha Lou Butler

Martha Lou Butler last child of Lester and Mamie Ray of Liberty Hill, Tx, born on January 18, 1946, in Liberty Hill, Texas, entered eternal rest on December 19, 2024, at her home in Bastrop, Texas, at the age of 78. She passed peacefully under the devoted care of her husband of 50 years, Dennis Butler. 

Martha is survived by her three children-Dee Ann, Danny, and Daren-who shared meaningful time with her before her passing. She is also survived by Dee Ann's son Blake, Danny's daughter Makayla and step-sons Tim and Cody and Daren's daughters Destiny, Dayla and stepson Conner. She also cherished a deep and enduring bond with her eight siblings, treasuring the closeness they maintained throughout their lives.

 Her life's journey took her to several Texas communities, including Pasadena, Austin, Cedar Creek, and Bastrop. Martha's professional career was marked by versatility and dedication as she served in roles such as administrative assistant, bookkeeper, office manager, and a position with the US Postal Service. A woman of remarkable creativity and talent, Martha was a gifted seamstress and still-life painter. Her love for music was evident in her ability to pick up any instrument and quickly learn to play it. Her passion for technology and service shone brightly through her work directing television productions and operating cameras for her church under Bishop Kenneth Phillips and later Pastor Randy Phillips. In quieter moments, she found joy in playing Words with Friends and online spades. Martha's life was a testament to curiosity, passion, faith, and love. Her warmth and creativity touched all who knew her and left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. 

A memorial service to celebrate Martha's life will be held at 12:00 noon on January 18, 2025, at Lifefamily Bastrop (formerly BCOC) at 1096 HWY 71 W Bastrop tx, Texas.
