Michael James Minoia, 63, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 in his home. He was a retired U.S Veteran and retired Health Inspector for the state of Texas.
Michael was born January 23, 1957 in Temple, Texas and was the only child of Michael J. Minoia and Dolores M. Minoia. He graduated with a Masters Degree from The University of Texas and also a Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M. He proudly served as a Commander in the U.S Navy and retired after 20 years of service.
When his children were younger, Michael was a proud GirlScout “Troop Mom” and enjoyed chaperoning field trips. He has always loved experimental cooking and trying new things. He loved to collect dragon figurines and statues. His hobbies included attending Renaissance Festivals, gardening, crafting/ building models, gaming, and reading. Some of his favorite quotes were “Been there, done that, got the t-shirt” and “Veni, Vidi, Vici”.
Michael will be dearly missed by his 3 daughters and their husbands; Tiffany and Matthew Hammond, Amanda and Jody West, & Elizabeth and Johnathan Jones. His 5 grandchildren, in birth order are Caleb Williams, Carson Williams, Ian Minoia, Xander Jones, Rylee West, & Canon West.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:00am at the Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.
