Michael Watters

On Sunday, January 27th, Michael Ray Watters, of Cedar Creek, TX, passed away, peacefully at home, at the age of 72, losing his battle to cancer.

Mike was born in Brady, TX, Jan 20th, 1947. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Milton Reginald Watters and Eunice Bernice Bishop.

Mike is survived by his wife of 20 years, Ann Watters. Sons, Michael & Shayne Watters, Karl Schroeder, Nathan (Cayte) Schroeder, and daughter Gina (Brian) Polley. He was blessed with many grandchildren, Sarah, Demi, Karlie, Allie, Abigail, Madison, Shayne, Zoey, Howdy, Annabelle, & Natalye. Also survived by sister Carol Robinson, and brother Larry (Lenka) Watters.

At an early age Mike worked alongside his Father on the family's ranch in London, TX. where he attended primary school. Later his football career for Junction High School was short lived when he was injured. He did some bull riding but FFA was his passion. He worked hard to prepare his prize-winning goats, sheep and hogs for livestock shows in Junction.

After graduation he served in the Army and then the Texas National Guard, He worked for National Cash Register where he was trained to repair cash registers, he then opened his own company, Capitol Cash Register Systems. Which he sold when he retired in 2007. He became bored with retirement and returned to work after a couple of years and worked full time until November 2018.

He is a member of the United Methodist Church. His interests included reading, all kinds of music, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his Grandchildren and his fur babies. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and generous spirit. Mike was outgoing and loved to tell stories. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Memorial service for Michael will take place at Haynie Chapel United Methodist Church, 16415 Greenwood Drive, Del Valle TX 78617 on Monday February 18th at 11:00 am.
