Mike Neel lived a life defined by service, love, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith. Born on May 17, 1948, in Riverside, California, he spent his early years in the Golden State before answering the call to serve his country. A proud veteran, Mike bravely served during the Vietnam War.
After his military service, he made Texas his home, building a life centered on family and duty. He pursued a career as a Texas State Trooper, where he worked to protect and serve his community with honor and integrity before retiring.
Beyond his service, Mike was a man of deep faith, known for his strength and the love he had for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his sons, Mike, and Bill; and his beloved grandchildren, Madison, William, and Juli, who brought endless joy to his life. He also leaves behind his cherished siblings: Ann, Bill, Cheri, Judy, Pam, and Wendy.
Mike now reunites with those who went before him—his father, mother, and sister, Pat—leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will never be forgotten.
His family and friends will always hold dear the memories of his warmth and steadfast spirit. They extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love, support, and prayers shared during this difficult time.
A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on March 27th at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Austin Texas with family gathering at 10:00 AM to receive family and friends, service will begin at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to a veteran’s organization, continuing his legacy of service to those who sacrificed for our country.
