Pedro Serna, Jr., born in Harlingen, Texas, served in the United States Air Force proudly for 20 years. So, when you see the flag, respect it because freedom isn’t free! He did tours in Vietnam, Korea, Iwo Jima, Italy, Spain, the United States, and others. Afterwards, he went to work for the Teacher’s Retirement System of Texas for 22 years. Real retirement came when he settled in Bastrop, Texas where he enjoyed working in his forest. If you knew Pete, you already know the details about his life.
He was a faithful servant of the Lord and a member of the Church of Christ at Heart of Texas and Central. He is survived by his wife (they were 2 peas in a pod), three children, granddog, and grandcat. Hugs to our friends, church, family, and co-workers who have been in our lives over the years. You know who you all are. You are simply, the best!
Remember Pete by being kind to each other, helping your neighbor, lending an ear, and making a difference no matter how small. Or you can make a donation to the Churches of Christ-Disaster Relief Effort, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Friends of Bastrop County Animal Shelter.
Full Military Funeral Honors will be bestowed upon Pete at a future date.
Share your memories of Pete online or better yet, send them to his home; you all know the address
