Peter "Pete" Martinez, Jr.

Peter Martinez Jr. went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 13, 2019, with his wife by his side. Peter was born October 6, 1932 to Pedro and Lucrecia Martinez in Bastrop, TX.

He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1950. Shortly thereafter he was drafted and was sent to Army Basic Training at Fort Hood.  At completion of basic training he was deployed to Korea. He proudly served in the Army and after his tour of duty he returned home to Bastrop. Peter married Enedina Barron on December 29, 1961 and they moved to Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gustavo and Robert Martinez and two sisters, Conce Garcia and Mary Foxworthy. Pete is survived by his loving wife, Enedina "Nina" Martinez, his brother, Rudy Martinez and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.  The funeral service will be at 10:00am on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home with Graveside Military Honors following at Alta Vista Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas.
