Robert Carl Dabney was born December 17, 1962, in Bastrop, Texas, to Willie Dabney Sr. and Nell Marie Dabney. He was the youngest fo nine children. Robert accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church under Reverend Woody Benford Sr.
Robert graduated from Bastrop High School in 1981 and later, graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Biochemistry. He was employed with the City of Austin for several years and was currently working with the City of Schertz at the time of his passing.
Robert met and married the love of his life Tina Marie Selvera March 16, 1983. They spent many years together hosting family events, traveling, and spoiling their nieces and nephews at Cristmas.
Robert had a love for music and played several different instruments in his high school band. Later in life, Robert enjoyed golfing, cooking and barbecuing. Most of all, he was a loving father and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan that loved to entertain and watch his "Boys" play.
Robert was called home on June 6, 2021. He was preceded in death his parents Willie and Nell Dabney, three sisters (Mable, Olivia, Nelda), two brothers (Willie James Owens and Ray Alvin Dabney), one son (Kevin Dabney), and his first wife Tina (Selvera) Dabney.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Christopher Aldridge Sr., Jordan Dabney, and Jayden Dabney, former wife: Jacueline Darbey Dabney, two sisters:Joy Bess (Dabney) Jiles, Ophelia (Dabney) Reese, brother (Willie Dabney Jr), grandchildren: Christopher Aldridge Jr., Kaneesha (Bastrop, TX), Tiara, Kamishia, and Aunistie Aldridge (Austin, TX), and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, friends, and co-workers.
Visititation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop,Texas.
Services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Bastrop, Texas with burial following at Alta Vista Cemetery in Bastrop.
