Samuel Garner

Samuel (Sam) Warren Garner, sixty, of Bastrop, Texas passed from this life Wednesday, June 7, 2017, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Samuel was born on October 20, 1956 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He worked in the oil field for nineteen years, enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching his favorite football team (The Dallas Cowboys) and NASCAR. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving son, husband, father and pawpaw.

He is survived by his mother, Edna Johnson (Michael) Peel of Austin; wife, Susan H. Garner of Bastrop; son, Michael Warren (Tracy) Garner of Three Rivers; daughter, Faith Garner Thomas (David Kennedy) of Kyle; three brothers: Ronald Garner of Bastrop, Glenn (Angie) Garner of Austin and Richard (Deborah) Garner of Cedar Creek; three granddaughters: Kayla Lynn Thomas Potter, Kylie Cheyenne Garner and Kaisley Aspen Garner, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Sam is preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Ann Garner and a nephew, John Wesley Garner.

Services will be held in Bastrop at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas.
