Tessa Lake

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Tessa Paloma Lake, who unexpectedly left this world on March 15, 2023. Tessa was born March 12, 1992, in Austin, Texas to Vincent and Michelle Lake. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 2010 and went on to study at Texas State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife in Big Game and absolutely loved her job.

She leaves behind her grieving parents, Vincent and Michelle Lake; her little sister, Taylor; her Great-Grandmother, Juanita Garza; Grandparents, Judy Lake, Raul Garza, Wilma Acord-Ramirez and Patrick Ramirez, in addition to her Godparents, Guadalupe and Alicia Salinas; several aunts and uncles including Allen Acord, Alta and Eric Villareal, Trudy and Allan Bennett, Larry and Mary Jackson, Michael and Samantha Garza, José M. Garza, Jr. and Vicky Lake; numerous cousins including her Goddaughter, Savannah; and cousin, Zoey, as well as her best friends Monique Gomez-Garcia, Michelle Jain and Tracey Bartolomey will always love and miss her. She also leaves her beloved four-legged fur babies, Nikita, Chuy, and Romeo; as well as numerous friends.

Tessa is preceded in death by her Great-Grandfather, José Maria Garza Sr.; Great-Grandfather, Frank Jackson; Grandfather, Victor T. Lake Sr.; and uncles, Victor T. Lake Jr. and David Ramirez.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop from 10am until noon. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Ascension Catholic Church beginning at 1pm with Funeral Mass to follow at 2pm.
