Thomas Sager

Thomas "Tommy" Sager of Cedar Creek, Texas passed away at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas on Friday, December 15th, 2017 at the age of 71 years. He was born November 21, 1946 in Washington County, Texas the son of Rev. Theo F Sager and Jeanette Sager. He married Shirleen Schumann on September 30, 1967 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas, they celebrated their 50th anniversary this September 30th.

Tommy loved his big family so much and is survived by his wife, Shirleen Schumann Sager of Cedar Creek, Texas; three daughters and their spouses, Tonya (Jody) Beck of Cedar Creek, Texas, Faith (Henry) Perry of Bastrop, Texas, Kimberly (Chris) Sybert of Jarrell, Texas; seven grandchildren, Patrick Beck, Bradley Hamilton (Tayler Cummins), Macey Perry, Chelsea Perry, Hannah Sybert, Christian Sybert; and one great-grandson, Garrett Hamilton.

Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Theo F. Sager and Jeanette Sager, Willie and Lonie Schumann; his son, Ashley Thomas Sager; and his grandson, Hunter Lane Perry.

The family is holding visitation at Marrs- Jones-Newby funeral home in Bastrop, Texas on Monday, December 18, 2017 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and a service and graveside memorial on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, Texas. The family would like to thank the nurses and Drs. Of Texas Oncology and MD Anderson for their loving support and care throughout this last year.
