Xenia Schipper was a tender hearted, giving person. If she thought somebody had need – she was ready to give – in any way she could.
She loved her dogs and her cats. She adopted a German Shepherd from the Humane Society – who lived with her for about 14 years. She made sure her pets were well cared for. But she also loved hunting and went hunting with her sister, Genevia, loving to be outdoors, walking and talking in all of God’s creations. She would take her dog for a nice, long walk every day she possibly could. Later, Elmer would go hunting and always proudly brought home a deer to process and put in the freezer. A lot of time they gave some of that meat away also – just wanting to be a blessing.
Of course, she dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was ready to help them in any way she could – always remembering birthdays, Christmas and graduations. She made sure each one had a gift or card with money inside. You could just about say that she lived to give.
For many years she participated in a Bible study and was baptized in the Baptist Church. She made many good friends that way and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of the Bible study group. Xenia often dreamed about going on a nice, long cruise – that was another thing she liked to do – dream of doing something very special – and that is what made her a very special person.
